Alison opens Australia's richest natural history art prize, The Waterhouse with a featured artist demonstration in South Australia Museum. Her drawing, Echidna Tale sold in the acclaimed exhibition. Judges included Head Curator of Australian Art Barry Pearce, Art Gallery New South Wales; Dr Suzanne Miller, Director South Australia Museum Adelaide 2009.

The artist cites the late founder of the Body Shop, Dame Anita Roddick, as one of her important mentors. In 1990, whilst working as a freelance arts & environmental journalist, Alison was granted the only private interview on Ms Roddick's tour of Australia. Anita chuckled, "I don't want to meet you again, Alison, until your Earthbook is published!" Unfortunately, Anita Roddick passed away in September 2007. Her last words to Alison in writing were:"The start of a new friendship is always so thrilling! Anita xx". |
